Observance of Hindi Day by Allahabad Bank

The Hindi Day function was organized by Allahabad Bank on 14th September, 2009 at its Head Office which was presided over by Sri K.R. Kamath, Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank.

The function was inaugurated with lighting of the Lamp followed by recitation of the messages of Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, and Hon’ble Union Home Minister by the General Managers of Head Office, Sri A.L. Daulatani and Sri Shrawan Kumar respectively. On this occasion, ‘Message’ of the Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank was also issued in order to motivate the officers and employees for progressive use of Hindi in the Bank.

Sri Rajiva, General Manager of the Official Language Department of Head Office delivered the welcome address.

In his key note address, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank, Sri K.R. Kamath said that the maximum number of our branches is situated in Hindi speaking areas and Hindi is also the pivotal point of our customer service. Therefore, use of Hindi is not only the constitutional responsibility, but also an identity for our Bank.

On this occasion, he called upon the officers and employees of the Bank to ensure that Hindi is used in our day to day work as per the expectations of the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India.

A Quiz Competition was also organized during the programme in which a large number of officers and employees of the Bank participated enthusiastically.

At the end of the function, Sri M.K. Kapoor, General Manager of Head Office delivered the vote of thanks.
