RECRUITMENT OF PEON-CUM-DRIVER IN ALLAHABAD BANK FOR VACANCIES IN
THE STATE OF WEST BENGAL
Applications, in a prescribed
form, are invited from the eligible candidates for the posts of Peon-cum-Driver for the
State of West Bengal.
Educational Qualification (as on
31-10-2006)
A pass in VIIIth (Eighth) standard or its equivalent but
the candidate should not have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent.
Age (as on 31-10-2006)
Minimum 21 years & Maximum 26 years.
Plus number of years of experience
relevant to the post subject to a maximum of upper age limit of –
For General category : 40 years;
For OBC category : 43 years;
For SC/ST category : 45 years.
For Ex-serviceman the relaxation in upper
age limit will be minimum 3 years plus actual period of service in defence subject to a
maximum of 45 years. The dependents of those Ex-Servicemen killed/disable in action are
not entitled to any relaxation in upper age limit.
Experience (as on 31-10-2006)
Must have driven a light and/or heavy
vehicle at least for 3 (three) years. Proficiency in driving Light and Heavy Vehicles is
essential and it is also desirable that the candidates are conversant with the vehicle
equipment.
Other Criteria
The candidates applying for the post
of Peon-cum-Driver must possess a valid driving license for both light and heavy vehicle
from the appropriate authorities. The license should be current and shall not bear any
adverse remarks.
The candidates must have valid Employment
Exchange Registration Card of the Employment Exchange of the District in West Bengal where
such candidates are permanently domiciled.
Women candidates are not eligible.
Scale of Pay and other
Rs. 4060/ to Rs. 7560/- (20 years)
plus D.A. & other allowances as per 8th Bipartite Settlement in vogue in
Banking Industry for subordinate staff cadre.
Number of Vacancy : 9 (Nine)
Reservation of vacancy : Scheduled Caste- 1
(one), OBC – 2 (two)

does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The Bank reserves the right to
raise the minimum eligibility standards etc. in order to restrict the number of candidates
to be called for interview commensurate with the number of vacancies. The decision of the
