In order to simplify SB account opening procedure and to leverage the technology to the benefit of the customer, Allahabad Bank has developed an “Application” through which the customer can submit to the Bank the basic information for opening of SB account through his mobile handset. This will be a tool to tap prospective customers.

Eligibility & Pre-conditions

  • The facility will be made available for “Resident Individual” customer only.

  • NRE/NRO/FCNR accounts cannot be opened with this facility.

  • No joint account, non-personal, Minor a/c etc. will be permitted under this mode.

  • To use this facility, the mobile handset should be any Smart phone with Android Operating system version 4 or above.

How to Open Selfie Account?


The customer shall download the “Application” which is available “Google Play store” in his mobile handset. For this, the customer has to type the name of the App –“Allbank Selfie Style” in Google Play store. Once it is downloaded, the installation button appears automatically. If the App is transferred from one handset to another handset, the installation process will ask to put a tick mark against a question “Allow installation of apps from sources other than Play Store.”


After downloading, the prospective customer will provide mobile number and e–mail ID and “Submit”. Thereafter, he/she will receive OTP in SMS form which is required to be filled in for proceeding further.

  • The App shall lead the customer to the “Application” wherein information can be filled up.All fields in the App are mandatory.

  • The information would inter-alia include Mobile number, e-mail ID, Name, Address, Occupation, Annual Income, Category of customer, Gender, Nationality, Religion,PAN and Aadhaar number/Voter I Card as photo ID. PAN is mandatory. As address proof, customer has an option to put Aadhaar card/V.I. card. Both sides of these two documents have to be captured.

  • The customer shall take his own photograph through his mobile handset as a “SELFIE” and upload the same in the system.

  • Similarly, the customer shall obtain photograph of his/her PAN & Aadhaar card/V.I. Card (both sides) through themobile handset and then upload in the system.

  • On completing the exercise and successful submission, SB account number shall be generated and will be communicated through the mobile set of customer.

  • The customer shall note the number and approach any branch of his choice for opening of the account within 15 days of generation of the account number along-with original KYC documents for verification by branch officials and collection of SB kit.
