Non Resident Indians can remit funds to India by any one of the following methods.
A. Instruments may be send to the following branches : -
A demand draft/Cashier’s check /official check drawn in foreign currency purchased from banker abroad.
International Money orders in foreign currency.
Your personal cheques in foreign currency drawn on your account abroad
B. PERSONAL REMITTANCE
During your personal visit to India the foreign currency Cash and /0r Travellers cheques. (In terms of the current guidelines, you are allowed to carry without customs declaration amounts in cash component up to USD 5000/- (or its equivalent in other currencies) along with travellers cheques with sum total of USD 10,000/- or equivalent in other foreign currencies.) These limits are for each NRI visiting India. Non Resident Indians may bring in any amount after declaring at the customs counter in Currency Declaration Form (CDF) signed by Customs officials.
In case, SWIFT remittance is made through your Banker abroad, kindly furnish the following information to your clients
“ Kindly instruct your Bank to remit USD _______ to ----(1)------ Bank Swift Code No ---(2)------ for credit in Allahabad Bank, Forex cum Treasury Management Branch, Mumbai (SWIFT CODE: ALLAINBBTDM, Account No -----(3)------) with them for onward credit to Account No (your account )_________ with Allahabad Bank ________ Branch of the beneficiary ----------(name)---------------
